Outfit change demo


A gif showing equipping/removing gear with the inventory ui.

Inventory, and looting from containers and ... sleeping enemies are working now. The equipment screen, together with the color chooser located there, will come at a later time.

Currently working on porting some stuff over from HR and constructing the dungeon from the "blueprint" shown in a previous update. That's pretty much all I want to do for demo II, and it should be here soon TM.

  1. Is it possible to control the camera if clicking out of the UI?

    Is the inventory going to be limitless or "weight" limited or number limited? I prefer to be able to collect all items.

    How will the "sort" work? Alphabetical or something fancy?

    Are tattoos in the plans?

    Colors are a minor detail but still ... are there any ideas in this area? In HR colorful outfits make a ton of sense but in a more fantastic scenario it doesn't seem to fit (... ironic, isn't it?) in current fantasies. In the same topic being able to dye metal is a mistake (really hard to be done) but at the same time it is nice if the color is soft and the metal not too shinny.

    Still talking about color ... gang/faction colors are natural but at the same time are a bit of a cliche. I think color can be used like in Soul Calibur Lost Swords [color = element it is not so cliche and very gameplay enriching (is it a word? to make more rich)]

    Are the factions going to have "formations" and tatics? Spawning and AI are a bit heavier to do but also elevates the gameplay standart.

    Will probably be limited by slots and/or weight.

    Sorting is currently manual only (drag and drop)

    I am leaning more towards the fantasy side rather than full medieval, so I like the player to have as much options as possible.

    That is certainly an idea.

    1. UI Cam: So to control the camera while equiping I need to get out the menu then come back, isn't it? Weird but okay.

      Inventory limitations: So will there be a box back in a safe place or will there be a limited overall amount of items that can be had at a given time?

      Formations and tatics: This can be hard to implement and even harder to defeat. I'm almost certain that stand-combat and "ground-combat" will need to have separated difficult settings. I see no fun on Dark Souls challenge on combat but a lot of people do ... few settings and both are happy. No idea how hard or simple it is to implement though.
