Added Inverse Kinematics to engine and implemented enough functionality for independent upper body and lower body movement.
Kind of tired of talking about tech so lets do something different this time.
As mentioned before, the next game will feature weaponry and directional attacks and guards. Eg, 4 attack directions - up/down/left/right and 4 block directions. A block is only successful if the block is in the same direction as the attack.
So here are the 4 blocks for a sword user, can you match them with the guard direction? (up/down/left/right)
I guess it boils down the hit detection with these types of blocks, also how would player rotation work? Camera angles and locking on too. I guess God Hand for the PS2 tried doing directional blocks. Great game but I digress.
ReplyDeleteWorking on those now :)
DeleteLove to see the game progressing so fast! Definitely eargerly awaiting whenever the first playable build might be!
ReplyDeletePlayable "tech demo" for Patreons n alpha testers almost surely before end of September. Probably some months away from a public release.
DeleteOne of my worries is the lack of being able to tell the direction of an incoming attack. I like the idea of having a number of parry directions, just hoping the enemy telegraphs a direction enough to not just be unable to really parry effectively.
